About The School Board

In June of 2006, The Diocese of Trenton created the Diocese of Trenton Parish School Boards Bylaws which outlines the need for the creation of School Boards to participate in the governance of parish schools in the Diocese.  The Diocese of Trenton states that the purpose of a School Board is:

The Board, a board of Delegated responsibility, gather in the spirit of the gospel to promote, sustain, and ensure the ministry of quality Catholic education. This is accomplished by providing vision, leadership, and accountability in collaboration with diocesan and local administrators as well as with other key representatives of the school, parish, and business communities. This is further achieved by making informed and deliberative decisions in designated areas and proposing recommendations in other areas to the pastor(s) or Pastor Designee who makes the final decision.

From Diocese of Trenton Parish School Board Bylaws, page 4.

Thus, the Mother Seton Academy Board acts in an advisory capacity for the School Pastors. Members of the board represent all areas of expertise including architecture, law, special education, and academic administration. School board members are appointed by the Pastors or School Superintendent and serve a term of three years.

Serving on the board is an outstanding way to help the school and parish reach the goals we all want to see for our parishes.  If you have an interest in serving on the MSA Board subcommittees, please write MSAschoolboard@msaedu.org
